A buyer’s offer is a share of that “melt value,” so ask any buyer to show you the weight, the karat they tested, and the spot price they used.
Gold is priced by the troy ounce, which is 31.1035 grams. Divide the spot price by 31.1035 to get the price of one gram of pure gold, then multiply by your item’s purity and weight. Today’s spot price is shown on our live gold prices page.
